Dynamic Testing

We provide in-situ solutions for the dynamic testing of all types of existing buildings and structures, including new and historic buildings.  

Dynamic analysis models are based on a series of assumptions (eg. stiffness and damping) which significantly affect the results.  Whilst the degree of inaccuracy can be managed by an experienced engineer, it cannot be completely eradicated.  Dynamic testing addresses this inaccuracy.  For buildings where dynamic behaviour is critical, such as floors supporting sensitive equipment, the floor can be tested to verify the design parameters and justify a design, or alternatively to provide accurate performance data for isolation design.

We also work closely with conservation engineers to carry out forensic testing of historic structures, where the testing of dynamic response combined with the experience of the engineer can be used to investigate the condition and integrity of sensitive structures, such as listed buildings.
